Telia Denmark, now Norlys after being acquired in April 2024, partnered with The Footprint Firm to embed sustainability more deeply in the business and prepare for future regulation and stakeholder expectations by building a robust sustainability foundation, spanning GHG accounting, target setting, and strategic planning.
Telia Denmark wanted to establish a clear starting point for its sustainability efforts, with a focus on understanding its environmental footprint and identifying high-impact areas for action. We supported Telia in developing its first sustainability report, calculating its full Scope 1–3 GHG emissions baseline, and setting short-term reduction targets that align with business priorities.
We calculated Telia Denmark’s GHG emissions across Scope 1, 2, and 3 in accordance with the GHG Protocol and assessed its waste baseline to provide a comprehensive environmental overview. Using this data, we worked closely with Telia to define ambitious but actionable near-term reduction targets and developed a catalogue of GHG reduction levers, each with quantified impact estimates and supporting business cases. The outcome was structured into a sustainability roadmap and supported by a governance model designed to ensure cross-functional alignment and long-term progress.
Our collaboration provided Telia Denmark with a clear baseline and strategic direction for its sustainability efforts. With defined targets, prioritised actions, and a supporting governance model, Telia was equipped to drive measurable emissions reductions and communicate its sustainability progress with confidence, both internally and externally.
