The Footprint Firm is about going beyond individualism. We insist that contributing to solving the climate crisis and doing good can go hand in hand with sound business, while building a company based on ultimate trust, high integrity and generosity.

Team

We focus on the ‘we’ rather than the ‘I’ in everything we do – both professionally and socially. We believe in the notion of ‘being an owner’ – where we all make decisions, take responsibility and carry through. Our culture is based on team-work, democracy and transparency and a common dedication to taking equally part in actively building our company and maintaining our values.

Founding letter

Going beyond individualism. The planet and its ecosystems face multiple imminent, interlinked sustainability challenges posing serious threats to the very survival of life as we know it.

Nothing is isolated — local affects global and vice versa.

It’s clear from the evidence: every individual, organization and country must act to address the climate crisis and prevent otherwise disastrous consequences.

This is our first step towards a much needed convergence to take on the greatest challenge facing humanity and planet Earth.

Our responsibility in practice

At The Footprint Firm, we focus exclusively on sustainability and were founded to contribute meaningfully to solving the climate crisis. At the same time, we work to build an organisation rooted in respect, shared ownership, and a commitment to creating positive impact.

Internal carbon tax
We apply an internal carbon tax of DKK 1,500 per tonne of CO₂e, aligned with the Danish Council on Climate Change. The proceeds are invested in carbon removal technologies and international NGOs that influence climate policy or mitigate climate impacts. Our aim is not to claim neutrality, but to help scale the solutions needed to meet the Paris goals.

Supplier engagement
We select suppliers based on environmental and social performance and actively engage them on sustainability. Through annual assessments and ongoing dialogue, we support suppliers in strengthening their sustainability efforts and ambitions.

Transparency & co-ownership
We strive for transparency and shared ownership across the organisation. This includes openness around budgets, salaries, profits, and cash position, as well as employee involvement in key decisions such as investments, strategy, and hiring.
