The challenge

Construction materials, especially those used for insulation and acoustic treatment, are often carbon intensive, rely on synthetic or fossil derived components, and contribute substantially to CO₂ emissions and environmental degradation. There is a growing need for building materials that offer high performance without compromising sustainability, aesthetics, or durability.

The solution

Søuld transforms an abundant natural resource, eelgrass, into high performance acoustic panels that combine excellent acoustic excellent acoustic comfort with safety, durability, and modern design. By reintroducing eelgrass into modern construction, Søuld offers a circular, low carbon alternative to traditional building materials. Their products store carbon, reduce reliance on synthetic materials, and prove that sustainability and premium performance can go hand in hand.
