Jan brings experience from management consulting and climate and sustainability strategy. Jan’s project experience covers multiple areas including developing climate risk assessment tools, formulating environmental and social strategies for private and non-profit organisations, ESG reporting strategies, as well as setting up various CO2e baseline calculations in various industries. This work has spanned across a wide range of clients including financial services, multilateral development banks and global corporates (mainly energy, healthcare, and financial services).

Before joining The Footprint Firm, Jan worked within global policy engagement in decarbonisation and corporate climate action for renewable energy major, Ørsted, as well as for McKinsey & Company in Frankfurt, Germany, in their climate risk service line.

Originally from Germany, Jan is an Energy Risk Professional (ERP) certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals. He holds a Master of Science from the Elite Advanced Economics and Finance program at Copenhagen Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Bonn and spent one exchange semester at the Universitá degli Studi di Siena in Italy.
